Paid positions with Artists for Humanity
AFH’s Youth-run micro-enterprise employs city teens to work in a variety of art media learning new skills, making art and performing creative design services for business clients of AFH. Participants also earn a starting wage of $8.00 per hour for up to 9 hours per week during the school year, and up to 25 hours per week during the summer.
In order to join and stay in the Youth-run micro-enterprise, you must:
1. be 14 year of age or older;
2. complete an unpaid apprenticeship period of 72 hours, which doubles as community service hours;
3. be enrolled in and regularly attending a Boston area school (this includes attending a night, day, or G.E.D. program)
4. turn in a report card every marking period to demonstrate that you can maintain at least a C average;
5. be able to attend during the program’s regular hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. during the school year; Monday – Friday from 12:00 noon – 5:30 p.m. during the summer)
This program provides real world experience and lots of opportunity for advancement.

Come by the Artists For Humanity EpiCenter on the first or third Tuesday of every month at 4:30pm for an Open House. Here, you can get a tour of the facilities, meet mentors and teens, and get a sense of whether the program is a good fit. At the conclusion of Open House, you can get an application and sign up for interviews.
*The last Open House is Tuesday, May 3! We begin Open House again in September.
